Landfall early Sunday July 26-27 at Huidong county brought gale-force winds and torrential rain. Authorities declared highest flash flood alerts in multiple provinces, orange typhoon warning — second-highest in four-tier system. Local governments accelerated evacuations in low-lying coastal and flood-prone districts. More than 340,000 to 700,000 residents relocated in Guangdong alone per Reuters/TBS reports. Schools in Chaozhou suspended, trains halted, flights cancelled at Hong Kong and Shenzhen airports. Noul is 12th typhoon of Pacific season, 3rd to hit China this month.

France and Spain wildfires force mass evacuation, troops deployed, pyrocumulonimbus clouds form

More than 300,000 people across France and Spain fled as of July 27, including British expats and summer tourists. Flames advanced to within 20 miles of Bordeaux, UNESCO city of 267,000. Thousands bedded down in exhibition hall. Officials warned of “difficult night” ahead. Monster fire stopped growing Monday per interior minister but not beaten. Pyrocumulonimbus — fire cloud creating its own winds. Spain declared national emergency near Madrid, 10,000 evacuated. Troops deployed. Europe is fastest-warming continent.

90 Fires in BC, 433 Across West, 900 Nationally

As of Friday morning, 90 active wildfires in BC, 25 evacuation orders. Hot and dry conditions driving growth. Reuters July 24: 433 active in BC, 176 in Alberta including Fort McMurray oil sands. 34,000 lightning strikes sparked fires. Smoke poured into US, Minnesota, New York air quality alerts. Northwestern Ontario thousands flee, Labrador West 5 fires out of control, homes destroyed in McDowell Lake First Nation.

Cairngorms Burns: National Park Evacuated Since July 15

Major wildfire broke out July 15 in Cairngorms National Park, Glenmore area. Affected Glenmore and An Lochan Uaine, Caledonian Forest damage. Evacuation of Glenmore, Badaguish, Cairngorm ski resort, camping sites. Flare-up later evacuated Nethy Bridge. Copernicus EMS mapping requested. 50+ firefighters, 9 appliances, 2 helicopters, specialist units. Very high wildfire warning extended to July 24. Police Scotland coordinating multi-agency response.

Arizona's Hottest Ever: 113°F in Phoenix

Phoenix reached 113°F July 6-8 per heat dome tracking. Closed out hottest meteorological spring ever avg 80.2°F. Record 31 consecutive days over 110°F. Salt Lake City new all-time high 109°F July 12. More than 1,400 daily heat records fell in July alone through July 19, on top of 1,035 in June per NOAA. Maricopa County 430 heat deaths in 2025, dozens under investigation 2026. Warmest 12-month span ever recorded for contiguous US April 2025-March 2026.

Boise Turns to Rivers of Ice: Massive Hail Floods Valley

June 26 2026 supercell unleashed destructive hail, torrential rain, damaging winds, flash flooding across Treasure Valley. Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell overwhelmed as streets transformed into rivers of ice, vehicles trapped, infrastructure damage, local disaster emergency declarations. NWS Boise meteorologist: “It was small hail, but there was an awful lot of it — several inches on ground in northwest Meridian.” Half-inch hail, 40-60 mph gusts, road flooding.

Tornado Alley Moves North: EF2 Tears Through Appleton

July 27 event: EF2 Appleton to Menasha to Lake Winnebago, Outagamie/Winnebago counties. List of US tornadoes July 2026 confirms. Trail of destruction through Fox Valley 35 miles south of Green Bay, destroyed homes, trees, power lines. 21K without power as storm passes. Confirmed tornado 12:01pm between Appleton and Oshkosh, spotted northern end Lake Winnebago. Tornado alley expanding north, unusual westward tracks this season.

Pattern June-July 2026: Mons Belgium June 8 Comet Sambre metal recycling 400 tonnes crushed car carcasses thick black smoke kilometers, residents stay indoors. Richmond Indiana massive fire toxic plastics smoke 2,000 evacuated expected to burn for days per fire marshal. Flowood MS Nucor General Recycling pile washers/dryers/plastics, Kalamazoo MI, Houston TX 3-alarm, Almonte Spain agricultural plastics rotating smoke column, Tennessee plastics recycling May 8. Flammable waste, climate heat = longer burns.

Two Hurricanes Churning While Atlantic Sleeps — Super El Nino Coming

NHC advisory July 26: two active systems churning in Pacific while Atlantic 0 expected formation next 7 days. Hurricane Fausto first hurricane of season, Genevieve grew to Cat 4 155 mph then fluctuating, Douglas and Elida earlier. Western Pacific typhoon Noul third to hit China. Atlantic suppressed by El Nino shear.

NOAA CPC: 81% chance very strong El Nino Oct-Dec, 97% chance persisting into early 2027, would rank among largest since 1950, only 5 super events since 1950 last 2015-16. JPMorgan warns super El Nino and oil shock could prop up inflation, food prices, slow growth. Malaysia, Philippines vulnerable. UCL: set to make next year hottest on record, return to 40C summers.

Bottom line: What you see now is prelude. El Nino usually one-season to one-year event, this one intensifying through 2026 into winter 2026-27.
