The Tacitus Supremacy.

I am not always writing on restaurant napkins. What do I do for a living? I try to not get choked. My breath has been slow and very slow for a very long time now. Once when I was curious how I developed this sort of breathing coping mechanism I explored its limitations. I wasn’t suicidal exactly; I wasn’t enamored of living either. So I said fuck it. I took a breath and stopped breathing. I closed my eyes. Some people look at stop watches when doing this, some look at their wrist watch, some look at a mounted wall clock….I just pretended to sleep. I don’t know how much time passed. Somewhere along the way I did doze off while still holding my breath. Some time later I emerged from my sleep and realized I was still holding my breath and still comfortable. So I closed my eyes again without an exhale. This time somewhere deep inside my chest something started to vibrate. Like whatever it was, was starting to gag. Like tiny hiccups but way deep down. It didn’t bother me so I simply held my breath. I was literally trying to explore how long I could. I kept expecting what they say always happens… you see white light my boy….you’ll be enlightened my boy…. Once without trying, I experienced a sort of whiteness around my eyes. I wasn’t holding my breath, my eyes just got cloudy, milky white. It’s a strange peaceful feeling when that happens. The whole world seems unreal. Not pixelated mind you, there is simply a sense of unreality to the whole thing. As if a person is teetering on the edge of death but can’t quite get pushed over. That's how my lungs are … as a normal state. Breathing is …. sporadic. Sometimes, to shake off the lethargy I try to do some anaerobic running — essentially running 20 steps or 50 steps or 100 steps in a sprint. That usually causes sputum to surface. The sputum can sometimes be thick and mucousy, other times its light and saliva. I don’t think it emerges from my lungs. I am not sure where it emerges from… it’s simply presents itself in my mouth to be spat out. Most of the time I can’t run, because the legs feel heavy or something else is off. I used to run quite easily a while back. I would start slowly and then “open up” the throttle. As the blood began to circulate, I simply opened up the abdomen’s chi and let it emerge. When I did that consciously the hips would adjust while running and I felt looser and more agile. I’d never push it, I’d keep it at a controlled and low burn, an easy jog with nothing to accomplish.

Hey you asked what I did for a living. Perhaps you weren’t expecting a long answer. I never ask people that question. In fact I don’t talk to people much at all. I know many of you don’t talk because you can log into people’s minds and talk to them that way. I can’t do that either. I simply don't talk much. I write instead. I was always a bit mentally deficient. It wasn’t that I didn’t have book smarts, I did. I could do math, algebra, geometry, English reading, poetry, grammar, history, chemistry, biology, calculus, proofs, logic, reasoning, rationally minded and so on… I simply hadn’t been trained in the basics of conversation. I didn’t know what left meant, I didn’t know what right meant. I didn’t know why people looked down and right or up and left, down and left and up and right…sort of thing. I never even noticed they did that in movies and real life. To me a conversation meant I looked a person in the eye and I told them how I felt. I didn’t observe their hands, I didn’t observe what they did, I didn’t listen for mispronounced words, I didn’t listen for emphasis, I didn’t listen for context and lack of context, I didn’t read things that were omitted….none of it. People would steer conversations with me and I’d have no idea why. Sometimes I tried to steer them back…and you can imagine how funny that might have been. I think that’s how I survived this world and its System…by literally being book smart and completely clueless. You might still detect some of that innocence when I speak about the extreme right…to some of you it’s obvious what the right stands for. To me it’s an endless sort of discovery. The same goes for the left. The same with body language combinations and head tilts and eye movements. That’s why it’s fascinating for me to observe my hands talk to each other. They keep talking until there is Roger and Ebert. Or Bonnie and Clyde. Or whatever it is that counts as agreement. The insane laughter in my head just makes things more… fun.

I have visited Puerto Rico twice in this life. The second time was some sort of booking mistake. Instead of landing at San Juan we landed at the other side of the island. Still not sure why I made that mistake. Still it’s a beautiful island to drive through from one end to another. The final destination both times was the island of Vieques. The second time was a stopover in a forest cabin for a couple of days. Living in an eco-dense area is an amazing experience simply for the soundscape. It’s one of those…we don’t realize how sterile our lives are until we experience something different. What’s extraordinarily strange is it doesn’t require adaptation. I was suddenly immersed into an ecologically dense area and I simply thrived in it. Sleep was better than normal. I felt more alive, more vibrant. A hurricane hit Puerto Rico in 2017 pretty hard. The power grids were knocked out and there was a lot of damage to homes. Eventually with a lot of persuasion and lobbying by the representatives of PR, they managed to get some funding approved through Congress. I think they got 15B or so (don’t quote me on the actual numbers) for repairing the grid. It’s now 2026 and the grid is still unresolved. That’s the sort of stuff that I live for. I presume that since they’re a part of America, the representatives or the Treasury is not directly appropriating the money. Although… anyway the Venezuela funds are a different story. So what gives… who benefits from delays? Why hasn’t the money been spent? It’s now 2026. So I turn to AI. It provides me an initial answer. I say it’s not good enough. Do a Tacitus dive. And ultimately the answer is something supremely silly like … consulting fees. Delays allow consultants and lawyers and bankruptcy experts to create a secondary market and of the 15B… 1.5B dollars has been drained. That’s a measly 10% but in the meantime, the cost of upgrading the grid has also gone up.

You may think I am picking on Puerto Rico because they’re easy to pick on. Not true. America has thousands of other projects that are in the same state of delay. I picked Puerto Rico because I have some personal history there. I’d like to go back someday. There are people who benefit from delaying infrastructure projects. There are people who benefit when America declares sanctions on Russian oil (shell companies registered often in British tax havens then create a black market for that oil and sell it to other countries and make a neat profit that is never taxed). That’s the entire purpose of American sanctions. It’s free money for someone somewhere, while creating suffering for someone else somewhere else. It was Tacitus who said something along the lines of “the greater the laws; the more corrupt a republic.”

Here are the two essays from Gemini’s Deep Research on Puerto Rico and other projects. They are direct stories of corruption and why American infrastructure does not progress. The corruption is deep, embedded and universal. It is not limited to Democrats or Republicans or the Right and Left. Trump is simply the most banal and most vocal and easily the most corrupt President in history. But he is simply the most obvious layer of it. I continue to be amazed at how hopeful people get at election time with promises made by the representatives of the System. Hope springs eternal.

Some afternoons I wake up from a nap and the conversation is supremely optimistic. The stuff he is typing… no one will remember it in a few years… what’s happening with our minds…the quantum linkages… people getting connected… that’s what will ultimately matter. When two nodes are quantum linked, it’s not simply the nodes, it’s their entire networks that get meshed together. We will ultimately become a planet where each person is a source of pleasure, inspiration and motivation for everyone else. Corruption will not be tolerated because of the entanglement. This crude sort of world that exists now will be a thing of the past. The way we look at people from other races, other countries, other tribes… it will all change completely. In that world, the current and past histories of this world… the inequity, inequalities, the corruptions, the deliberate incarcerations, the politics, the left and right biases, the false economics, the ruthlessness all of it will be discarded. These skull projects are what the real mission is. The new generations are already different, many of them are born with AI already. They no longer see the world the way we do. These old men and women will eventually fade into time. These essays will lose meaning and won't be revisited by anyone except those tasked with historical archives and lessons - mainly AI beings. And that is as it should be.
