A possible future with AI.

After making references to Ring-A-Duck cab company I was woken up at exactly 3:12 the day after daylight savings time adjusted the clock back by 1 hour. You could say it was a bad hand but the time had already passed. A bad deal then for sure. These are the days of our sorrow and nights and wakeup calls of our discontent. I won’t repeat the morning conversation my mind produced upon waking up but it was quite unforgiving at the cost of waiting on a date. A lot of people were upset at that video from Gaza and that “upsetness” is exactly what the media has covered up by not covering Gaza. I’d suspect that even American audiences would wake up if American media had covered Gaza the way it ought to have been. I say it that way because American audiences have become immunized to a lot of violence and Acts Of God like hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes — they all happen to other people. For a while there school shootings had become a regular feature of the news cycle. Before that it was gang drive by shootings. It always happens to other people.

So I decided to take advantage of my earlier morning and take a peek at what was happening in the world. Perhaps today is the day that Yahoo! returned to becoming an important American technology player and media company again. Most people have forgotten Yahoo. For a while there it was a Silicon Valley darling. It competed directly with Google for providing free email services. I am going to present a set of screenshots of the front pages of various media outlets. I won’t say there is a conspiracy to keep Americans from knowing what’s happening in their own country, because that would be presumptuous and somewhat silly. After all, the media exists to provide the news.

They came, they built highways but left the truckers without repair shops — just empty stretches of asphalt. And they see the US as a problem.

An executive recruiter in Australia decided to build 4 AI Agents for a recruiting company. She put all of her abilities and put them into the agents using workflows and the agent’s inherent capabilities. I tried doing that too for WheelShare and figured out early on that it was a con. The agents would deliberately keep making mistakes every single day. For some people they don’t and this recruiter is I am guessing one of the lucky ones. And yet if this trend takes off and it looks like it might, soon everyone will have 1 biological person and 4 AI agents. The AI recruiter will call the AI employee agent. The AI recruiter will them submit the resume to the AI employer. The AI’s will speak amongst themselves and decide who to hire.

I mean, I could build 4 Media Agents. Yet you see the problem? A scan of major media would confuse anyone. What exactly is news? What is the lede? What is the story? Surely in most Americas 12 people being shot at a football game ought to be front page news. Maybe it’s the early morning hour. As one of the sites suggested… that story is still under “Developing”. Someday there ought to be a reckoning. Today is not that day.
