BRIEFING 01 - CLIMATE AND NATURE
For 3 or 4 days now, we’ve been providing a briefing to the American People. Those briefings were created as a Dashboard to try and give you an idea of the Physical Problems facing America. When we focus on the physical, it refocuses attention on what is actually happening rather than politics and policy. Today, in all 14 areas that are important to American Independence, we will try to give you a detailed Briefing. There are actionable TO DO items that account for the banana republic that America has become. We have created two columns… What a normal country or state would do… here’s what we can reasonably do given the circumstances. The true fix is for the entire world to fix the Climate by moving away from oil, gas, coal and anything that pollutes the environment and move to solar, hydrothermal, nuclear types of energy. That may be a bridge too far for America to cross, given the earlier mention of the Banana Republic. Each of the 14 categories we will brief you on deal with the PHYSICAL REALITY of things. These cannot be ignored. Nor can they be disproven. This is the REALITY of what is happening.
This stuff will not be given attention in regular media. Here’s what we found.
The empirical findings demonstrate an extreme concentration of coverage on political rhetoric, which absorbs 88.5% of total media volume. The three physical infrastructure categories combined account for 8.5% of total broadcast time and published reportage. This creates a coverage deficit, where slow-moving physical bottleneck crises are underreported relative to their economic impact.
The Physics of Fire, The Collapse of Command
Physical wildfire acreage, the red-card command deficit, aerial tanker purgatory, and what atmospheric intervention can and cannot do.
What is this system in plain physical terms?
Think of the physical land, forests, dry timber, relative humidity, and airframes that determine whether American communities stand or burn. Wildfire is not an ideological debate or a cable news talking point — it is a rapid, exothermic chemical reaction governed by three physical variables.
Tons of dry biomass per acre.
Relative humidity and soil moisture.
Lightning strikes or electrical line arcing.
Suppressing it requires physical mass: gallons of chemical fire retardant dropped from aircraft wings, bulldozer lines cut through brush, and human boots on the ground clearing 10-foot dirt trenches before the flame front arrives.

As of mid-August 2026, the U.S. has recorded 48,960 wildfires that have burned 7,270,038 acres year-to-date.

A. The staffing unforced error
Wildland firefighting requires two completely different tiers: Initial Attack Crews (GS-3 to GS-9 — entry-level seasonal workers who swing Pulaskis and dig trenches) and Red-Card Leaders (10–20 year veterans qualified to direct airtanker drops, coordinate evacuations, and keep crews from being trapped).
Onboard — 104% of goal. Plenty of junior personnel with shovels.
To buyouts and cuts (~16% of the permanent workforce) — gutting the experienced Red-Card incident-commander tier.
You can hire college students to dig trenches in three weeks; you cannot replace a 15-year fire behavior analyst on three weeks' notice. The system has muscle on the ground, but its command nervous system has been severely depleted.
B. The aerial tanker maintenance black hole
Large airtankers drop 3,000–4,000 gallons of retardant to cool the flame front so ground crews can approach it. Congress authorized transferring retired Coast Guard HC-130H transports to state agencies like Cal Fire to be converted into heavy airtankers.

Planes are routed through military depot maintenance (e.g. Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex) and sit for years — the Air Force prioritizes active combat transport over civilian firefighting planes.

The military's MAFFS program — 8 roll-on units in Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve C-130s — is actively flying out of California and Oregon. Other platforms, like the C-27J, remain absent from the 2026 federal operational fleet due to contracting and airworthiness certification delays.
To do: moving past bureaucratic fantasy
Any credible action plan must separate what a high-trust, functional country would do from how states and citizens must actually survive in the real America.
What a functional country would do
- Congress creates a permanent, unified Federal Civil Aviation Corps.
- Military depots overhaul surplus C-130s on strict 90-day deadlines.
- Wildland firefighting splits from general forestry budgets into a permanent, high-wage federal emergency service.
Decentralized state survival
- Bypass Pentagon depotsWestern states contract directly with commercial aerospace firms for turn-key wet leases — aircraft, pilots, and mechanics owned and dispatched by the states themselves.
- Form an independent Western Air CompactA multi-state mutual-aid aviation strike group that moves airtankers across state lines by thermal satellite heat maps, bypassing federal NIFC dispatch friction.

Solving the wildfire crisis requires moving beyond seasonal emergency response and addressing the physical inputs that create catastrophic mega-fires.
Accumulation
Ignition
100 years of fire suppression built a fuel surplus; an aging, arcing power grid supplies the spark. Remove either leg and the triangle collapses.
100 years of overgrowth
A century of putting out every small fire prevented natural clearing, letting Western forests accumulate 10–20x their historical fuel density — hundreds of small trees per acre where 20–40 large trees once stood.
Grid arcing & line sparks
A large share of catastrophic Western fires are sparked by high-voltage transmission lines swaying into brush or failing in high-wind events.
Non-conventional intervention: cloud seeding
Can atmospheric modification create rainfall to put out active fires? It's critical to separate atmospheric physics from science fiction.
Active mega-fires occur under extreme summer high-pressure systems with relative humidity below 15% and no convective clouds present. Squeezing a dry sponge yields zero drops.
Systematic winter cloud seeding across the Sierra Nevada, Cascades, and Colorado Rockies (as practiced by the Desert Research Institute and Idaho Water Resource Board) reliably increases snowpack volume by 5–15%. That snowpack keeps mountain soil and timber damp into July — delaying fire season and keeping fuel moisture above catastrophic burn thresholds.
Wildfires will not be stopped by press conferences, federal hiring freezes, or wishing for emergency rain out of a clear sky. Surviving the season requires sovereign state air fleets, hiring back experienced fire bosses outside bureaucratic red tape, aggressive off-season forest thinning, and maximizing winter snowpack through engineered cloud seeding.
