Kim’s Convenience.
What?
What?
I mumble stuff sometimes and I am not the only one. I walk by people and sometimes they say something I can’t quite decipher as they’re walking by. And for the most part, politeness or perhaps discretion allows me to not ask the question at the start of the essay: “What?” It seems a rather forward question to someone that I don’t know well. I mean there is no ice-breaker no introduction, simply a presumption of intimacy and then a question. What? No not you.
Lady Gaga, well respected in Japan, sorry… “immensely popular” in Japan as “Gaga-sama” was hired by Family Mart to do a commercial where she hands out fried chicken ‘famichiki’ and pleads with part-timers to work there. It’s a cool job! The robots are not welcome. Customers don’t like robots at convenience stores. Especially at night.
That reminded me of another TV show that my mind allowed me to watch in its entirety without ADHD sort of hiccups. It’s a Korean family running a convenience store in Toronto.
