Pattern Matching Alert: Chemical Weapons & WMD
Maybe that’s all my job is with the Skull Enhancement Project: find patterns in news articles that ought to send off alarms at intelligence agencies at places who last names end like Jarrett Ley. Anyway, here are the snapshots. At first I thought this might simply be a media campaign that brings back focus to Sudan (turning away from Gaza) and re-establishing how Arabs and the Arabic language are the real monsters.
Be honest with yourself now, seeing this image on September 13, two days after the media has made you remember the events of 9/11, how does it make you feel? If you were honest, you would totally forget the little girl from Gaza and re-remember all the various reasons how we’ve been programmed to hate Arabs as a civilization threat. Even though I cannot read the Arabic, the juxtaposition with those containers and “choking gas” does the trick. What if I translated the Arabic and said those are containers of milk and this is an article about the increasing costs of milk. Would you change your mind then? I am not trying to downplay the seriousness of chemical weapons, yet all of this is a movie I’ve seen before. In Iraq. And Syria.
Once again, I hope the reader is savvy enough to understand the intent here. The intent is not to downgrade the tragedy in Sudan. The intent is not to downgrade the dangers posed by various types of WMD: from chemical, to biological to nuclear. The intent is simply to document that my brain’s pattern matching algorithm got triggered and here are some of the articles that did it. We did print earlier before 9/11 a similar essay, that suggested that an IO campaign was underway to wipe off the stains of Gaza and transfer attention to Sudan. The idea is that Overton Windows move slowly, but they can be sped up by cessation of bombings, lack of news or news getting wiped off front pages, and being replaced by a new set of bad actors. Sudan has been an unfolding tragedy for a long time yet no one except Kristoff was allowed to cover it. All of a sudden, there is a lot of news on Sudan.
